About us

The Retreat provides an eclectic, compassionate, family oriented professional treatment to persons presenting with substance use disorders and their significant others.

The Retreat is based on an eclectic model employing community as method and self help concepts of substance use disorder treatment.

Individualized treatment plans provide professional counseling, medical, social and spiritual attention.

The design of the model is based on years of research and studying what works in addiction treatment and recovery in Africa and the rest of the world. We treat each person who comes to us with respect, dignity and fun while providing a safe place in which to heal.

The Vision:

The Retreat envisages being a leader in the pursuit of trans formative and dignified rehabilitation in Africa.

Mission Statement:

To help restore hope, healing and health to substance abusers, addicts and those with co-occurring disorders.

Core Values:

Gratitude, Humility, Honesty, Courage, Respect, service and Faith.

Quality Statement:

The Retreat uses an on-going quality review and improvement system which looks at all aspects of service delivery and administration. The Retreat continuously assesses the treatment effectiveness, its efficiency, and the clients satisfaction with the services we offer. It measures client progress in treatment on various aspects of recovery from substance abuse and related disorders. From their admission to treatment until 3 months after discharge, all clients are regularly requested to complete a confidential questionnaire and express their drug craving and use, addiction severity, vocational, educational, legal, medical, social and psychological status and related needs.
